Canada’s got a garbage problem. Guess who gets to clean it up? Michigan.
Charlie heads to a massive Wayne County landfill where Canadian garbage trucks roll in day after day, dumping millions of tons of trash in our backyard.
Why? Because it’s cheaper to bury their garbage here than deal with it at home.
Some 3.2 million tons a year. That’s enough garbage to fill the Empire State Building twice.
And thanks to the Constitution’s interstate and international commerce rules, Michigan can’t simply shut the door. So what’s the answer? Tariffs.
Charlie gets down in the muck, talks to the truckers, visits the landfill, and asks the question nobody seems eager to answer: Why are we letting Canada dump its garbage on us?
Now there’s a 50% tariff on the table. Michigan might finally get a break.
Back to Canada. Take your garbage with you.
