So says a senior aide to Mary Sheffield, the odds on favorite to be Detroit’s next mayor.
EXCLUSIVE- A major scandal before she is presumedly elected to office next week.
The plot: Sheffield, then a city council member, jetted off with Detroit demolition contractor Brian McKinney as they were “getting to know each other.”
McKinney, who is accused of poisoning Detroit with toxic dirt, had business before the council.
Sheffield admits she voted on contracts and did not disclose their relationship in violation of the city’s Executive Order barring canoodling.

Mayor Mike Duggan took McKinney under his wing and made him a wealthy man.
